  • Morning:

    • Meet the Guide: Begin your day by meeting your guide for an introduction to the tour and an overview of the itinerary.
    • Walking Tour of Tirana:
      • Start your exploration of Tirana, the vibrant capital of Albania. Your first stop is Skanderbeg Square, the heart of the city, where you’ll learn about the country’s national hero, Skanderbeg.
      • Visit the National History Museum to delve into Albania's past, followed by a stop at the Palace of Culture and the Gallery of Arts, which showcase the nation's rich artistic heritage.
      • Explore the National Theater and learn about Albania's theatrical history. Then, continue to Bunk'Art, a fascinating museum built inside a Cold War-era bunker.

    • Sightseeing of the Old Town: Upon arrival in Gjirokastra, start exploring this UNESCO-listed city, famous for its well-preserved Ottoman architecture.
    • Gjirokastra Fortress: Visit the impressive hilltop Gjirokastra Castle, one of the largest in the Balkans. The fortress dates back to the 12th century, with much of the current structure from the 19th century.   • Depart for Saranda: The drive to Saranda takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, passing through breathtaking landscapes along the Ionian coast.

    • Arrival in Saranda: Arrive at the beautiful Saranda, often referred to as the "Pearl of the Ionian." This picturesque coastal town offers stunning sea views and a laid-back atmosphere.
  • Free Time in Saranda: Take some time to explore the town, stroll along the seaside promenade, or relax on the beach.

  • Overnight in Saranda: Enjoy your evening and overnight stay in this idyllic coastal town.

    • Breakfast and Meet the Guide: After breakfast, meet your guide to begin your journey to the Butrint Archaeological Site.
    • Visit Butrint Archaeological Site:
      • Butrint (Buthrotum) is an ancient city that dates back to Greek and Roman times and later became a bishopric. Inhabited since prehistoric times, Butrint was once a bustling Greek city of the Chaonian tribe, later becoming a Roman colony.
      • The city’s decline began at the end of Antiquity, and after a major earthquake flooded the area, it was abandoned in the Middle Ages.
      • Today, the site is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and you'll have the chance to explore its ancient ruins, including a Greek theater, Roman baths, early Christian churches, and well-preserved city walls. The site is surrounded by lush nature, offering an incredible backdrop for photos and learning about its rich history.
  • Afternoon:

    • Depart for Berat: After your visit to Butrint, continue your journey to Berat with a scenic 3-hour drive through the Albanian countryside.

    • Arrival in Berat:

      • Berat Castle: Begin your exploration of Berat with a visit to the iconic Berat Castle, which has been inhabited since the 6th-5th century B.C. as an Illyrian settlement. The castle later became known as Antipatrea in the 3rd century B.C. and continued to grow as a strategic fortress during the Byzantine and Ottoman periods.
      • Within the castle, you will discover churches with stunning frescoes and icons, as well as a historic calligraphy school. Today, residents still live within the castle walls, providing a unique opportunity to experience local life within this ancient structure.
      • Old Town of Berat: Explore the charming old neighborhoods of Mangalemi, Gorica, and Kala, each offering a glimpse into the town's rich history and unique Ottoman architecture.
    • Traditional Lunch in Berat: Enjoy a traditional Albanian lunch in the heart of Berat’s old town, featuring local specialties that reflect the region's flavors and culinary traditions.

  • Evening:

    • Leisure Time in Berat: After lunch, you’ll have some free time to further explore Berat’s scenic streets, shop for local crafts, or simply relax and take in the views of the river and the castle.

    • Return to Tirana: In the late afternoon, depart from Berat and head back to Tirana. The tour will conclude upon your arrival in the capital.
